Be sure to spend at least one full day in Papeete.  The Public Market called "Le Marche" is the heart of the city, and located just one block from the waterfront.  A perfect place for your souvenir shopping.

Moorea is just 11 miles across the Sea of the Moon from Tahiti's
coastline and the city of Papeete.  It is a short 7 minute flight, or 30 minute ferry ride.  The ferry ride has a breathtaking view of volcanic peaks, spectacular bays, and crystal clear waters.. Moorea is romantic and peaceful.  The sunsets are unforgettable.
A wide, shallow lagoon surrounds the island's vertical mountains where poetic threads of waterfalls tumble down fern-softened cliffs. Peaceful meadows flanked by pinnacles of green will fill your senses and renew your belief in the majesty of nature. Pastel-painted houses surrounded by gardens of hibiscus and birds of paradise, circle the island in a fantasy of happy, yet simple villages.
